Some chapters are closing in my book of life. Others are beginning.
Hi,
At the end of October, I'll be in Mallorca for three days of reflection and exploration. I'll be looking closely at choices I've made recently about the direction of my life, my work, the HAST Leadership Companies and what those choices could mean over the months, years, and decades that follow.
As I started to design this, I thought I was going to create a conventional three-day program on the theme of Leadership Language.
But something didn't feel right.
I realized that I was looking at deeper questions, and that Leadership Language was only one part of it.
The deeper questions were:
What am I creating next?
Who am I becoming as I create it?
How can I bring "The Three Intelligences of Life" (explained below) together to live my fullest possible life?
So I changed the plan and created something different.
Also, rather than allowing the group size to determine whether the experience happens, I decided that I will do this work whether anyone joins in or not.
If one person comes, we'll explore together.
If fifteen come, we'll explore in a group of fifteen.
If no one comes, I'll explore by myself, because I want to spend these three days with these questions.
I'd love for people to join me. Reflection becomes richer when shared with others. One person's question often opens a door for someone else.
There are four areas we'll be exploring.
First: After twenty-five years of running HAST, I've decided not to retire. I want to take a fresh look at the next twenty-five years and what might be possible.
This is not about impossible games or yearly targets. It is about asking:
What is my infinite game? What is the game that will continue for the rest of my life?
Second: After more than a thousand hours working with AI over the past two years, something inside me clicked.
I found a way to use AI not only to become more productive, but also to deepen my relationship with myself and with what truly matters.
I'll share what I've learned so AI can become more than a planning partner or a time saver for you.
Third: I led an AI seminar for a company in September. The group was highly engaged, and every single person gave the seminar a 5 out of 5 rating.
I'll share some of the approaches that helped them use AI to think more clearly, become more productive, and save hours of work.
Fourth: I'm bringing the power of speech acts and leadership language back to the foreground:
Describing. Promising. Requesting. Expressing. Declaring.
I learned this work thirty years ago. I have not been teaching it much at all. Leadership is conversation, and language is the bridge between an idea, an invitation, a decision, and a result.
Before Mallorca, I'll sail approximately 1,000 nautical miles over two weeks, from Greece across the Mediterranean.
That journey will give me time to reflect, pay attention, and arrive fully present.
I'm inviting a small number of people to join me as I arrive in Mallorca, for 3 days of reflection, deep conversations, and fun!
Maybe you're closing a chapter too. Maybe you're deciding what belongs in the next one.
If this speaks to something you are carrying, you are welcome to join me. Just send me a mail at the address below with any questions you have or let me know you want to book your place.

Three days. One real conversation. A chance to look clearly at what comes next.
I bring questions I want to look at, and thirty years of practice at looking at things with people.
We'll work the way a real conversation works. Something opens. We follow it. We notice what changes.
Bring something real with you.
That is what we'll work with.
Not an example. The actual thing.
You may leave with:
Not another target or project, but a deeper sense of what you are creating next.
Space to look at what you already know, but have not yet acted on.
The analytical mind, artificial intelligence, and inner knowing, with the possibility of creating greater clarity and saving meaningful time.
Practical ways to use AI not only to save time and increase productivity, but also to think more clearly and reconnect with what matters.
Prompts, questions, and approaches that can help you use AI as a thinking partner, not simply as a faster typewriter.
You will learn to notice what is actually being said, what is missing, and what needs to be spoken.
Describing, promising, requesting, expressing, and declaring.
Make clearer promises, requests, decisions, and commitments, with less waiting and ambiguity.
The opportunity to think alongside leaders facing meaningful decisions, responsibilities, and transitions.
Time away from the usual noise to listen, reflect, and return to your life with something clearer than you arrived with.
You will not leave with a finished answer to everything.
You may leave with something more useful:
A clearer question, a truer direction, and the courage to take the next step.
Two real, one artificial — let them work together.
It is good at problems and poor at direction. It can tell you whether a plan is sound. It cannot tell you whether it is yours.
AI has become genuinely capable over the last two years, yet most of us still use it as a faster typewriter.
The older one. The quiet one. The part of you that told you something was wrong months before you could explain why.
I've spent more than 1,000 hours over the past two years exploring AI and the possibilities of integrating AI into the fabric of your life. There are big wins available, and many pitfalls. I'll share what I've learned so you can save yourself a few hundred hours by avoiding some common mistakes.
I learned these thirty years ago, and I never found anything more practical when it comes to making things happen. One simple conversation can actually be the start of really big results.
Most disagreements are not disagreements. They are two people describing different realities and assuming they are describing the same one.
A promise without a "by when" is a wish. Plans rarely fail outright. They slip quietly, while everyone still believes they are on track.
There are three honest answers to a request: yes, no, or a counter-offer. Silence is not one of them, though most of us accept it as agreement, then wait, and then become disappointed.
The one most of us skip. Saying what you see, what you value, and what you want. It does not push. It pulls.
Some things become true because someone with the standing to say them said them.
We will not study these as theory. We will use them on whatever you bring with you.
Leaders who want time to reflect in a way that makes a real difference, in their own life, and for the work they are committed to.
Before the three days begin, I'll be sailing from Greece to Mallorca, roughly two weeks at sea, arriving in Palma Harbour, the day before we meet.
I've had plenty of time to reflect, learn new things, enjoy sunset and sunrise, far from land. I'll bring vitality and inspiration from that trip, into the room when we meet!
